Meet Dr. WrightWhat are the benefits of breast reduction in Little Rock, AR?
A breast reduction offers women in Little Rock many health and quality-of-life benefits, such as:
- Relieving back, shoulder, and neck pain
- Reducing skin irritation
- Enjoying a wider range of physical activities such as running
- Feeling more confident
- Enjoying more clothing options
- Sleeping more comfortably
Living with overly large breasts can cause a physical and emotional strain that many people don’t understand. Dr. Wright has witnessed the many ways in which breast reduction has improved his patients’ lives.
Many women also combine breast reduction with a tummy tuck and liposuction after pregnancy and breastfeeding. These combination procedures, often called mommy makeovers, address multiple concerns with a single surgery and recovery period and provide extensive benefits.
How is breast reduction performed?
Dr. Wright performs breast reduction as an outpatient procedure using a general anesthetic. Using incisions similar to breast lift surgery, he removes excess glandular tissue and fat from the breasts, reshapes and repositions the areolas, tightens the breast skin around the new more compact shape and removes the excess. Once complete, he sutures the incisions closed.
How long is recovery after a breast reduction?
Breast reduction patients are usually ready to return to work and non-strenuous activities in 1 to 2 weeks. After surgery, you will need to wear a supportive bra to minimize swelling and support the breasts while they heal. Most patients can manage any discomfort by taking the pain medication Dr. Wright prescribes or over-the-counter pain relievers.
