Chin Implant Surgery

An attractive face requires a delicate balance between facial features. An underdeveloped or weak chin can make the nose look out of proportion and reduce definition along the jawline. Dr. Eric Wright performs chin implant surgery in Little Rock to help women and men from Fayetteville, Jonesboro, Conway, Hot Springs, Pine Bluff, and throughout greater Arkansas have a more defined profile and look more fit and youthful. He also offers nonsurgical chin augmentation with dermal fillers.

What is chin augmentation?

Chin augmentation is either a surgical or nonsurgical procedure to add volume, projection, and definition to the chin.

How is surgical chin augmentation performed?

Dr. Wright performs surgical chin augmentation as an outpatient procedure using either local anesthetic with IV sedation or general anesthetic. After selecting and sculpting the implant to the desired shape, he inserts it over the chin bone through an incision hidden inside the mouth along the bottom lip or just under the chin in a natural crease.

Patients often combine chin augmentation with other facial plastic surgery procedures such as rhinoplasty, a facelift, neck lift, or eyelid surgery.

What is nonsurgical chin augmentation?

People who aren’t ready for surgery can choose nonsurgical chin augmentation performed using an injectable dermal filler like JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA®. Results are temporary but can last up to two years.

What can I expect during recovery after chin implant surgery?

Patients have about a week of downtime after chin implant surgery. Swelling, bruising, and soreness are normal and can be minimized by applying ice packs as directed. Sutures placed inside the mouth dissolve on their own, while external sutures will need to be removed in about a week.
